2. Booking a visit
When you book a visit through our booking calendar, we collect the details you enter, in particular:
- first and last name, email address and mobile number;
- the date and time of your visit;
- your answers to optional questions, such as what interests you most and how you heard about us.
We use this information to arrange and confirm your visit, send you a reminder, welcome you at the club and follow up with you afterwards about membership. We also record it in our internal client records so that we can manage our contacts and follow-ups. The legal basis under the GDPR, where it applies, is the preparation of a contract at your request and our legitimate interest in following up with interested guests.
Our booking calendar is provided by Acuity Scheduling (Squarespace Scheduling), a service of Squarespace, Inc., USA. Your booking details are processed and stored by this provider on our behalf. Confirmation and reminder emails are sent through this service.
3. Hosting and website
This website is hosted on Squarespace (Squarespace, Inc., USA, and its affiliates). When you visit the site, technical data is processed automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. This is necessary to display the website securely and reliably. Squarespace may use cookies that are essential for the site to work, and, if you allow them, analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is used.
4. Embedded content
Video (Vimeo)
Our club film is hosted on Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc., USA). The video player only loads when you click on the film. From that moment, Vimeo receives data such as your IP address and information about your device and may set cookies. For more information, see Vimeo's privacy policy.
Fonts (Google Fonts)
To display our typefaces, this website loads fonts from Google Fonts (Google LLC, USA; Google Ireland Ltd.). Your browser therefore connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address. For more information, see Google's privacy policy.
Links to other websites
Our event list links to event pages on winebank.de, operated by the wineBANK network. When you follow such a link, the privacy policy of that website applies.
5. Advertising and measurement
If you consent via our cookie banner, we use the Meta pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. / Meta Platforms, Inc., USA) and Google Ads conversion tracking (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, USA). These tools help us measure how well our advertising works and show our ads to people who may be interested in the club. They use cookies and similar technologies and process data such as your IP address, device information and the pages you visited. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie settings on this website.
6. Emails from us
After your visit, we may contact you by email or phone about membership. We only send newsletters or regular marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
7. Data transfers abroad
Some of the providers named above are based in the United States or process data there. The United States is recognised by the Swiss Federal Council as providing adequate data protection only for companies certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Where a provider is certified, your data is protected under that framework. Otherwise, we rely on standard contractual clauses or other safeguards recognised under Swiss and EU data protection law.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep booking and contact details for as long as needed to arrange your visit and follow up with you, and in any case no longer than 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a member. Members' data is kept for the duration of the membership and afterwards for as long as required by law, for example for accounting purposes (generally 10 years).
9. Your rights
Under the applicable data protection law, you have the right to:
- request information about the personal data we hold about you;
- have incorrect data corrected;
- have your data deleted or its processing restricted;
- object to the processing of your data, including for marketing purposes;
- receive the data you provided to us in a common electronic format;
- withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future.
To exercise these rights, contact us at zuerich@winebank.ch. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), www.edoeb.admin.ch, or, if the GDPR applies, with the supervisory authority in your country.
10. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. This website is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The version published on this page applies.
